This is Me

This video was part of a wider project with The Liberty Consortium’s Hub students and Void Gallery. The theme of the work has been ‘This is me’, where the young people were given the opportunity to explore and express themselves through various art forms, such as clay, paint and technology. Having the young people as both the artists and subject of this art exhibition has helped to validate their right to freedom of expression.

The self portraits were made by the students via a variety of mediums and techniques. For us, getting to know these young people was a privilege. We were blown away by the quality of their work, with each of them capturing something of their own unique personalities in their self-portraits. They have inspired us with the open and honest nature of their work and their enthusiasm and joy in creating.
